Mattel ran a voting competition for the new I CAN BE BARBIE series in 2002 - Architect Barbie overwhelmingly won (against Librarian and Police Woman Barbies). - Mattel decided not to produce the doll, arguing that little girls couldn’t understand what an architect does.
